Mission: Red Planet : Route Map

Originally I was supposed to ride from New Delhi to Misano. However, a few delays and the political issues between India and Pakistan meant that I had would have to skip a couple of countries to make this roadtrip possible. And thats what I did. Pakistan and Afghanistan were struck off the list and I decided to start from the Ducati Dubai dealership and end at the World Ducati Week 2012 at the Misano Circuit in Italy.

Anything can happen on the road, a breakdown, border issues, custom issues, political unrest. Pretty much anything. The route has been planned to pass through the coutries of Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia and through to Italy. Along the way I will be visiting the various Ducati dealerships and will also try to meet local biker clubs.

LATEST UPDATE (28th May 2012): The bike was having problems in getting to Iran (read this blog), hence we searched for an alternative (read this blog) and decided it would be best of to take a bike from Istanbul, Turkey and ride it from there around Turkey, then into Greece (which was not originally in the plan, but now since one country was deleted (Iran), we added one (Greece). From Greece we would go through to Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia and finall to Italy.

Here is a latest ‘tentative’ breakup of the route, if your neck of the woods fall anywhere in between just give me a shout, and if the God Of Internet is with me I shall be able to meet up with you! Also please throw some suggestions about:
